Code Review in Kerala & India

An independent review of your codebase for quality, security and maintainability.

Scope of work

What's included in Code Review

Every engagement starts with a written scope, so you know exactly what you are getting, who you are working with and what it costs.

  • Architecture and code quality review
  • Security checks
  • Performance review
  • Dependency audit
  • Prioritised written report
  • Follow-up walkthrough call

A second pair of expert eyes

Code that works today can still be risky, fragile or expensive to change. An independent review gives you a clear picture of the real condition of a codebase before you release, hand over, inherit, invest or scale. It is especially valuable when the people who wrote the code are no longer around or when a vendor's work needs to be checked by someone with no stake in the result.

When to commission a review

  • Before accepting delivery of a project from an agency or freelancer.
  • When taking over an existing application or hiring a new development team.
  • Before launching a product that handles payments, personal data or critical processes.
  • During due diligence for investment, acquisition or partnership.
  • When performance, bugs or maintenance costs keep growing.
  • When you want an assessment of AI-generated code before it reaches production.

What we examine

Architecture and structure. Is the code organised so that features can be added safely? Are responsibilities separated, dependencies sensible and data models appropriate?

Code quality. Readability, naming, duplication, error handling, consistency and adherence to the conventions of the language and framework.

Security. Input validation, authentication and authorisation, session handling, secrets management, injection and cross-site scripting risks and handling of personal data, guided by standards such as the OWASP Top 10.

Performance. Database queries, caching, unnecessary work, front-end weight and scalability bottlenecks.

Dependencies. Outdated or vulnerable libraries, abandoned packages and licence conflicts.

Testing and delivery. Test coverage and quality, build and deployment processes, logging and monitoring.

Documentation and maintainability. Whether a new developer could understand, run and change the system.

How the review works

We agree scope, access and confidentiality terms first. We then read the code, run the application and its tests where possible, use automated analysis for style, security and dependency issues and investigate areas of concern manually. Automated tools find certain classes of issue quickly, but judgement is needed to decide which matter, so we combine both.

What you receive

A prioritised written report that explains each finding in plain language: what it is, where it is, why it matters, how severe it is and how to fix it. Findings are grouped by severity so the most urgent issues are clear. The report also summarises overall health, strengths worth keeping and a suggested remediation plan with rough effort estimates. A walkthrough call lets you and your team ask questions.

Fair and constructive

The aim is not to criticise people but to improve outcomes. We describe issues factually, recognise good decisions and avoid personal preferences presented as defects. Where reasonable people could disagree, we say so and explain the trade-off.

Confidentiality and intellectual property

Source code is sensitive. We sign non-disclosure agreements on request, use secure access, store nothing longer than needed and do not share code with third-party services unless you agree.

Optional follow-up

After the review, we can help fix priority issues, coach your developers, set up automated checks in your pipeline or re-review after changes to confirm that problems are resolved.

Cost and timeline

Reviews are quoted after we understand the size, languages and goals of the codebase. Smaller applications can be reviewed within days, and larger systems take longer. The scope and price are agreed in writing beforehand.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Reviewing too late. Reviews are cheapest before launch or payment, not after problems appear.
  • Relying only on automated scanners. They miss logic errors and misjudge priorities. Human judgement completes the picture.
  • Asking the original author to grade their own work. Independence is the whole point.
  • Ignoring the report. A review has value only when the top findings are scheduled and fixed.
  • Demanding perfection. Every codebase has debt. The question is whether it is understood and under control.

Questions to ask a reviewer

What standards do you apply? Will findings be prioritised? Do you keep my code confidential? Can you help fix issues afterwards? A good reviewer is specific and transparent about method.
